Nightfall

Reeling in the moments of the night
One measured second by second by second,
Bring me a clock that never winds down.

In the pleasure of a lovely woman's company,
Never passes a minute that I am not smiling.
Dare I say it?  Every hour is far too brief!

Adding up the time elapsed since we first met,
None was ever seen to be wasted or forgotten.
No, each tick of the clock was preciously savored.

Revealed in the sharing of friendly and playful words
Or simply through the consideration of one's thoughts,
Some one - one special woman - is discovered.

Evening closes with nightfall, but tomorrow awaits!
